1. The Arthur Grumiaux International Violin Competition is organised by the ASBL VIOLON VIRTUOSO. Open to violinists of all nationalities, this competition is supported by the Baron Arthur Grumiaux Foundation, a public utility foundation.

2. The Competition is divided into three age categories:

   - Category I: for candidates aged 0 - 11

   - Category II: for candidates aged 12 - 16

   - Category III: for candidates aged 17 – 21

3. Each category of the Competition comprises four stages:

   - Video pre-selection

   - First round with piano

   - Second round with piano

   - Final with orchestra

4. All works must be performed from memory and without repetition (except for very brief repetitions). Sonatas with piano and contemporary works may be played with sheet music. Candidates may choose the order of the works in each stage.

5. Selected works cannot be altered after completing the inscription.

6. Accompanists are provided free of charge by the Competition. Candidates may also bring their own accompanists at their own expense.

7. Piano rehearsal times are set by the Competition and cannot be exchanged or changed. Failure to attend a scheduled rehearsal will result in forfeiture of that rehearsal.

8. Travel and accommodation costs are the responsibility of the candidate. Candidates are solely responsible for their visa; however, an invitation letter will be available upon request from the AGIVC. Visa requirements should be checked with the respective embassy or consulate.

9. The Competition is not responsible for any consequences of accidents or incidents involving competitors beyond the standard insurance for participants as visitors to the Competition venue. The Competition disclaims any responsibility for theft.

10. The jury is composed of 5 distinguished international musicians, and all jury decisions are final. The jury reserves the right not to award certain prizes if the required level is not achieved. In the event of a tie, the chairman of the jury has the casting vote.

11. Jury members are strictly required to abstain from voting for their own students during the evaluations.

12. The Competition is open to the public at all stages. The order of performance for participants is determined by the order of registration; the first to register performs first.

13. Family members of the candidates are permitted to attend each stage of the competition in the concert hall free of charge.

14. The results of the first and second rounds are announced after all candidates in a given category have performed.

15. Results will be announced publicly, sent by email to the candidates, and published on the Competition’s website as well as on social media.

16. The public is allowed to film and take photographs during the Competition only of family members or individuals who have given explicit verbal or written consent.

17. Winners are required to perform at the Competition concerts without remuneration.

18. The Competition reserves the right to record, film, stream online, or broadcast any part of the competition events without remuneration to the candidates.

19. Participants and winners must grant the Competition the exclusive right to use these recordings. The Competition also reserves the right to share information about candidates and participants with selected partner organisations.

20. Any unsporting or disrespectful behaviour towards the team, the jury, other candidates, or their families may result in exclusion from the Competition.

21. The organisation reserves the right to amend the rules in the interest of the Competition.

22. Candidates accept the Competition's terms and conditions upon registration.
